FAQ'S
1. What makes the Bohn Kevlar-Lined Armored Flannel different from a regular flannel?
Our Kevlar-lined armored flannels are designed specifically for motorcycle riders, offering style, comfort, and protection. They are lined with DuPont™ Kevlar® for abrasion resistance and feature universal armor pockets to hold Bohn CE-Level 2 armor in the shoulders, arms, and back.
2. Is this flannel fully lined with Kevlar?
Yes! Unlike some flannels that only have partial Kevlar coverage, our flannels are fully lined with DuPont™ Kevlar® in key impact areas for enhanced abrasion resistance and protection.
3. Does this flannel come with armor?
Our Kevlar-lined flannels are designed with armor pockets, but armor is sold separately. We recommend using Bohn CE-Level 2 armor for maximum impact protection.
4. Can I wear this flannel in different weather conditions?
Yes! These flannels are great for all seasons. Wear them as a lightweight jacket in warmer weather or layer them under a riding jacket in colder temperatures.
5. How does the flannel fit?
Our flannels have a relaxed fit, allowing for easy layering over a t-shirt or hoodie. If you plan to wear armor, we recommend ordering your normal size for a comfortable fit.
6. What features make this flannel rider-friendly?
Each Kevlar-lined armored flannel includes:
✅ Full DuPont™ Kevlar® lining for abrasion resistance
✅ Universal armor pockets for impact protection
✅ Gusseted sleeves for better range of motion
✅ Durable cotton flannel for comfort and breathability
✅ Zippered front with snap closures for secure fitment
7. How do I care for my Kevlar-lined armored flannel?
To maintain the quality and durability of your flannel:
Remove the armor (if installed) before washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle
Use mild detergent (avoid bleach or fabric softeners)
Hang dry to preserve the Kevlar lining
8. What sizes are available?
We offer a wide range of sizes from Small to 3XL, ensuring the perfect fit for every rider. Check our size chart for exact measurements.
9. Are these flannels unisex?
Yes! While designed with motorcyclists in mind, our Kevlar-lined flannels are great for men and women riders alike.
10. Do you offer different colors?
Yes! Our Kevlar-lined armored flannels are available in multiple colors:
🟡⚫ Yellow + Black
🟣 ⚫Purple + Black
⚫ Black
⚪🔴 Grey + Red
⚪⚫ Grey + Black
🔵⚫ Blue + Black
11. Can I wear this flannel off the bike?

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow the steps below to ensure long-lasting wear and care.
Pull the fabric back on the armor pockets to remove the armor. (Note: failure to remove armor may cause damage to the fabric shell.)
For best results, we strongly recommend the fabric shell be dry cleaned (Please speak with your dry cleaner to make sure they can properly care for your garment due to the Kevlar lining). The fabric shell can also be hand washed in cold water, using a mild detergent.
Spot clean as needed.
Hang dry.
Iron on low.
Please NOTE:
Pilling can occur if the garment is consistently rubbing against something that agitates the garment (ie. tag, plastic, loose seam, etc.), so please be certain you do not have anything that will agitate the fabric.
**Improper care (ie. lack of laundering), pilling and shrinking of garments is not warrantied.
With proper care, our garments can last years. We wish you many years of riding protection!
Armor Care
Cleaning:
We recommend removing the armor from your Bohn gear from time to time to clean it as detergent residue, salt (including body salt) and moisture can stick to it and negatively affect the armor.
Armor pieces should NOT be placed in the washing machine or dryer, but may be wiped clean with a damp cloth if they become soiled.
Temperature:
We recommend storing your protectors in temperatures above 60 degrees. Extreme temperatures will not affect the effectiveness of the protector, but extreme cold in addition to stress on the protector (ie. bending of the armor when cold) can cause the pieces to crack.
A such, do not stress the protectors in extremely cold weather conditions. (For example, leaving pieces in a cold garage and then putting them on can cause armor with articulation to crack at the articulation points.)
Just use good judgment when wearing the protectors and try your best to keep them against your warm body. DO NOT use frozen protectors–bring them inside to warm up and then use.
Warranty:
Limb armor, like your helmet, has an expiration date typically 5-10 years from manufacture.
If you have Bohn armor that is 5-10 years old and is "crumbling", you need to replace it. If only one piece is crumbling, the other pieces are sure to follow. This means your armor has expired and all pieces should be replaced as they were likely manufactured at the same time.
Cracking of Level 2 armor pieces is not warrantied as this means one of two things:
The armor placement is incorrect on your body (see proper placement graphic below). OR
It has been subjected to cold extreme temperatures and then bent or used while frozen or cold.
If your protector is affected and you are confident that you have taken care of your protector, please give us a call.
