Description
Designed to fit snugly against your head and easily inside your helmet, this often overlooked accessory makes riding more comfortable and keeps your helmet clean and fresh!
Our skull cap features four way stretch material which means one size fits all. Also, flat lock stitching construction means that the seams will not press into your head so no more seam headaches!
In the summer, or during warmer riding conditions, sweat can become a nuisance inside your helmet. The unique micro wicking material in the brow area of our skull cap keeps your forehead cool and dry by drawing perspiration away from the skin. This also prevents sweat from blurring your vision, making your ride safer.
During the colder months, our skull cap offers additional insulation against chilly temperatures. Our design covers your ears for greater protection against constant winds, which can become uncomfortable and make riders feel fatigued more quickly.
The crown uses breathable, lightweight Lycra® which is smooth against the hair and scalp. This prevents annoying (and painful) hair pulling or scalp rubs from the inside of your helmet. Furthermore, it allows sweat and moisture to escape instead of drying on the scalp and causing dreaded “Helmet Itch.”
In addition to increasing comfort to the rider, our skull cap helps keep your helmet clean and sanitized.
When you wear a helmet for an extended period of time, sweat gets absorbed by the inner padding. Not only that, if you apply hair products such as hair oil, sprays, gels, mousse, etc., these products can be absorbed in the helmet pads as well. Many female riders have expressed frustration when their helmet padding is stained by their cosmetics.
Most helmets have removable and washable helmet pads but that does not mean it is convenient to do so every time you finish a ride. If your padding is NOT removable it is even more of a hassle. However, leaving your helmet dirty is not good practice because your padding will break down more quickly.
The best solution is to wear a skull cap and then just toss it into the laundry with your light to medium load so it is clean and dry in time for your next ride. An added benefit is that your helmet pads will be spared unnecessary wear and tear that could come from constant washing.
